If you’re a Sex and the City fan and the new season of the show’s reboot And Just Like That isn’t cutting it for you, The Bold Type might be your perfect next binge. The Freeform series aired five seasons from 2017 to 2021 and was essentially a modern take on SATC that I don’t think gets the hype it deserves. The dramedy series follows three 20-somethings who work for a global women’s magazine called Scarlet. Jane Sloan (Katie Stevens), the writer, Kat Edison (Aisha Dee), the social media manager, and Sutton Brady (Meghann Fahy), the assistant stylist, may all work separate jobs, but they make the perfect trio of best friends just trying to make a name for themselves in New York City. Between their love lives, work struggles, mid-day closet catch-ups, and important discussions of race and sexuality, this feel-good show keeps it real and keeps you hooked.
