Being a college student is expensive enough, but there’s at least one perk offered by Spotify: a bundle that includes a discounted subscription plan for its service plus Hulu for free.
Spotify’s Premium Student plan offers a one-month free trial for new members, after which qualifying students will pay $5.99 each month, which is $4 cheaper than the regular individual plan. The discount is good through your graduation.
In addition, Spotify Premium Student includes the ad-supported Hulu plan at no additional cost. That’s a savings of $95.88 each year. Hulu with ads normally costs $7.99 for a regular membership, but only $1.99 per month for students.
This is by far the cheapest way to get access to Hulu. That’s just icing on the cake for music lovers who already subscribe to Spotify.
If you have Spotify Premium and are enrolled in an accredited college, visit Spotify’s Premium Student page to verify your school. You’ll also need to provide proof of enrollment.
Once you’ve filled out the SheerID verification form, you’ll receive an email confirming your eligibility within a few days. The email will prompt you to create a new Spotify account or attach the discount to your existing one.
To activate your free Hulu membership:
- Log into your Spotify Premium for Students account
- Go to your account page and select Activate Hulu under Account Overview
- Complete the required fields and follow the prompts to activate your Hulu account
If you’re already subscribed to both Spotify and Hulu, don’t fret. You can combine your accounts to get Hulu for free. Simply verify your current Hulu account is billed directly through Hulu and not through a third party. Then, change your existing Huly email account to the same one used for Spotify.
