Taylor Swift has postponed tonight’s Eras Tour concert in Buenos Aires due to what she called “truly chaotic” weather, a description that might also apply to the media frenzy with the arrival in Argentina last night of Travis Kelce.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end reportedly arrived in Buenes Aires on Thursday, fueling speculation that he’d be attending either tonight’s now-canceled show or, more likely, the Saturday night show.
The canceled Friday show at Estadio River Plate Stadium has been rescheduled for Sunday night.
Next up for Swift are three shows in Rio de Janeiro next weekend, then São Paulo, Tokyo, Australia, Singapore, France, Sweden and more. See the full itinerary here.
“I love a rain show but I’m never going to endanger my fans or my fellow performers and crew,” Swift wrote today in an Instagram Story post. “We’ve rescheduled tonight’s Buenos Aires show for Sunday due to the weather being so truly chaotic it would be unsafe to try and put on this concert. Good news is I get to stay in Argentina longer!!”
Weather forecasts indicate that Buenos Aires could get up to 2 inches of rain tonight, with winds of 40 mph.
Swift’s Thursday show in in Buenos Aires last night included the songs “The Very First Night” and “Labyrinth” as the night’s surprise songs. The latter number in particular, with its lyric “Oh no, I’m falling in love again” adding to the frenzied speculation about Kelce’s imminent arrival.
