Taylor Swift was forced to go rogue when her meticulously planned concert hit a snag during the first Eras Tour stop in Cincinnati on June 23.
As you might have seen in person or on a blurry TikTok live, Swift’s three-hour performances feature fantastical choreography, surprise acoustic sets, and lots and lots of dramatic costume changes. In the case of the transition from her Reputation era bodysuit to her sparkling “Enchanted” gown, Swift usually descends through the floor to switch looks while her dancers march towards the door at the back of the stage. However, when Swift reached her mark during the Friday show, the platform failed to move.
At first, Swift tried to signal her stage crew with a little foot stomp but took off running when that didn’t trigger the descent, passing her dancers as she booked it towards the door in heels. One fan captured the moment in a viral TikTok video set to “Run” by AWOLNATION. I mean, swift is literally her last name.

Of course, Taylor Swift took the whole thing in stride. “Still swift af boi,” she commented on the video, which currently has 1.2 million views and over 200,000 likes.
Though Swift’s comment seems to have been deleted, another fan shared a screenshot of her reply in another TikTok video. “Getting swift af boi tattooed on my wing,” the official Duolingo account replied to the original video, while another user wrote, “Brb. Making a ‘Still Swift AF boi’ friendship bracelet.”
The stage malfunction has been posted all over TikTok from multiple angles, with one clip showing the platform descending right after Swift took off running.

After shaking off the snafu, Taylor Swift said she had “the best two nights” in Cincinnati, showing her love for the city by performing an extra surprise song during her second show on July 1. “Cincinnati I couldn’t love you more,” Swift captioned her most recent Eras Tour photo dump on Instagram. “Had the best two nights with you!! Last night was so special getting to sing ‘I Miss You, I’m Sorry’ with @gracieabrams in the acoustic set and bringing out @aarondessner to play ‘Ivy’ in his hometown. ? See you soon Kansas City, meanwhile I’ll be counting down the minutes til Speak Now (my version) comes out July 7th WHICH IS VERY SOON.”
Okay, but when is she dropping the cardio routine?
