Taylor Swift and Disney dropped a music video for the superstar’s new Toy Story song “I Knew It, I Knew You” on Friday, with Swift’s new country throwback playing in the background to a compilation of footage of Woody, Jessie and the Toy Story gang from the first four films.
The music video is available in full on Spotify and Apple Music now, and Taylor Nation dropped a snippet of the video on X on Friday.
“I Knew It, I Knew You” represents a return to Swift’s country roots, and the song reunited her with longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, who co-wrote the song with her. Sonically, the track is reminiscent of Swift’s debut era, with Antonoff contributing banjo and mandolin as well as harmonica.
“Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time,” Swift wrote in an Instagram post Thursday night after the song released. “Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 til now … is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond.”
“I Knew It, I Knew You” marks Swift’s first song since releasing her 12th album The Life of a Showgirl last year.
Toy Story 5 is set to release on June 19th and is one of the most-anticipated films on the Disney slate this year. The film’s story is timely to the digital age, and it will explore how today’s children have taken to higher tech entertainment devices instead of traditional toys.
