Tamia’s eagerly awaited Tamia Live in Durban concert has been relocated to Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium, with organisers confirming the venue change is due to the 46th SADC Heads of State and Government Summit being hosted at the Durban ICC.
The concert, scheduled for Friday, August 7, will now take place at the iconic cricket stadium while the Durban ICC hosts one of the region’s most significant diplomatic events.
Durban ICC chief executive officer Lindiwe Rakharebe said the decision was made through collaboration between all stakeholders to ensure the success of both events.
“The Durban ICC is honoured to host the forthcoming SADC Heads of State and Government Summit, an event of immense significance for our region,” she said.
“At the same time, we recognise the excitement surrounding Tamia’s return to Durban and have worked closely with the event organisers to ensure that fans will continue to enjoy an exceptional concert experience.”
Organisers said concertgoers can still expect the same production, live band and performance from the Grammy-nominated R&B singer, whose setlist will include hits such as Officially Missing You, So Into You and Stranger in My House.
All tickets purchased for the Durban ICC remain valid. Patrons will automatically be issued new tickets for the Kingsmead venue, with seats reassigned to the next best available option.
No ticket exchanges or additional payments are required.
Further details on parking, venue entrances and event-day logistics will be communicated through the organisers’ official channels ahead of the concert.
The Durban ICC said it remains committed to delivering successful experiences for both international delegates attending the SADC Summit and music fans attending one of Durban’s biggest live entertainment events of the year.
