After five years of quietly dating Robert Pattinson, Suki Waterhouse opened up to The Times of London about the pair’s relationship. The two have been linked since 2018, when they were first spotted at a showing of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again in Notting Hill. In the years following, the pair kept their relationship private before hard-launching at the Dior fall 2023 menswear show last December.

“I’m shocked that I’m so happy with someone for nearly five years,” Waterhouse told The Times while promoting her latest project, Daisy Jones & the Six.
Both parties had previously had high-profile relationships: Pattinson famously dated Twilight costar Kristen Stewart for four years during the height of Twilight-mania, and Waterhouse was known as “the girlfriend of Bradley Cooper” for two years before their split. When asked about the judgment she faced as Cooper’s girlfriend, Waterhouse said, “You can’t expect the world to just be graciously understanding of everything.” Of the 17-year age gap in their relationship, she added, “When you’re 21, you go headfirst into things and you’ve absolutely no idea what the repercussions are.”
With Pattinson, she said, everything is different. The couple rarely spends time without each other, even with their busy schedules. “I had two days off the other day, and it was like, no question I’m going back to see him,” she told The Times. “Then he’ll come out for a couple of days.”
She also shared that he actually helps her read lines, even if he eventually falls asleep. “Rob definitely isn’t getting advice from me about acting, but of course I’ll try and get him to help me with an audition before he falls asleep on the sofa.” Pattinson was booked and busy over the last few years playing the broody Bruce Wayne in The Batman (which required a lot of training) and there are talks of him reprising the role in the sequel scheduled to release in 2025.
