All good things must come to an end. Netflix released a teaser trailer for Stranger Things 4 Volume 2, promising more terror and destruction for the people of Hawkins.
The trailer opens with an ominous voiceover from Vecna saying, “It is over, Eleven. You have freed me.” The monster adds, “You can’t stop this now,” foreshadowing a showdown between this villain and our psychokinetic heroine. Viewers learned the horrific connection between Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) in the season finale of Volume 1.
The return of Stranger Things after a two-year hiatus has delivered monster ratings for Netflix. For instance, the premiere of Stranger Things Volume 1 was the most-streamed program on the streamer’s Top 10 list, pulling in 286 million viewing hours and breaking records as the most-watched English-language series in a single week, landing the No.1 spot on Top 10 lists in 91 countries. To date, Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 has amassed 621.8 million hours viewed on the streaming platform.
The series, created by Matt and Ross Duffer (The Duffer Brothers), made its debut on Netflix in July 2016 and quickly became a critically acclaimed hit. Stranger Things has 38 Emmy Awards nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series in 2017, 2018 and 2020; Outstanding Casting For A Drama Series in 2018; and acting nominations for David Harbour (Jim Hopper) and Brown. In addition, the cast won The Screen Actors Guild Award for Ensemble Series in 2017.
Stranger Things 4 Volume 2 premieres on Netflix on July 1.
