Star Wars Jedi Survivor update adds ‘solid 60 FPS’ on consoles, DLSS on PC

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s seventh update has arrived for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

On consoles, Respawn said it has “completely reworked” performance mode, which now offers “a solid 60 FPS” when ray tracing is disabled.

Quality mode optimisations are also said to reduce FPS fluctuation and add other visual improvements, while variable refresh rate is now supported on PS5.

The update also introduces support for NVIDIA DLSS. a super-sampling technology which uses AI to upscale the resolution of PC games, effectively allowing players to achieve higher graphical settings and better frame rates from their systems.

The full patch notes can be viewed on EA’s website.

Despite a six-week delay for polishing, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released in April with significant bugs and performance issues.

Nevertheless, the game reviewed strongly, has seemingly performed well commercially, and Respawn has worked to address its various issues with a series of updates in the four months since.

EA recently announced plans to release Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for PS4 and Xbox One, although a launch window has yet to be confirmed.

The director of the Star Wars Jedi series, Stig Asmussen, has said he hopes to make a trilogy of games, and Respawn is currently recruiting team members for what is presumably a third entry in the franchise.
