Marvel Studios is back atop the Hollywood hierarchy with the historic release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The 38th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the latest Spider-Man adventure picks up Peter Parker’s story after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

“Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city as a full-time Spider-Man. But as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced,” the film’s logline reads.
An Historic Release
Since Brand New Day hit theaters, it has been nothing short of a historic blockbuster.

So far, the film has delivered the biggest opening day in box office history, the biggest domestic opening weekend ever, and helped propel movie theaters to their highest-grossing weekend of all time.

Another Milestone Reached
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially surpassed $1 billion at the global box office.

Reaching the milestone in just six days, Brand New Day is now the second-fastest film ever to cross the $1 billion mark, trailing only Avengers: Endgame.
While Marvel surely expected Brand New Day to perform well, even the studio did not anticipate a debut of this magnitude.

“It’s overwhelming, frankly, to find ourselves in this position on a Monday morning. In the very best way,” Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told Variety.

“I did not expect Endgame’s record to be beat, but I couldn’t be happier that it was beat this past weekend by our 38th MCU movie.”

Looking ahead, Spider-Man: Brand New Day faces little direct competition over the next several weeks.
