Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is getting its own San Diego Comic-Con panel this month, Insomniac Games has announced.
Key developers from Insomniac and members of the game’s cast will reveal new details about the title during the panel, which is titled ‘Symbiotic Relationships’ and set to take place in Hall H on Thursday, July 20.
“Get a behind-the-scenes look at Insomniac Games’ take on the monstrous Venom and how the symbiote plays a role in the sequel”, reads a description of the event.
Representing Insomniac on the panel will be creative director Bryan Intihar, game director Ryan Smith, narrative director Jon Paquette and senior art director Jacinda Chew.
They’ll be joined by actors Yuri Lowenthal (Peter Parker), Nadji Jeter (Miles Morales), Laura Bailey (Mary Jane Watson) and Tony Todd (Venom), plus Marvel Games creative director Bill Rosemann.
Insomniac released the first gameplay video for Spider-Man 2 in May, revealing several new features as well as a key villain, Kraven the Hunter.
Players will seamlessly switch between both Spider-Men across a variety of story moments in the game, with Peter donning a black symbiote suit offering unique abilities.
“We’re no stranger to Spider-Man knocking heads, but never like this: he’s much more aggressive and punches certainly aren’t being pulled,” according to Insomniac senior community manager Aaron Jason Espinoza. “Symbiote tendrils aggrandize Spider-Man’s silhouette, slamming foes against hard surfaces, dealing no mercy to Kraven’s Hunters.”
Publisher Sony started taking pre-orders for the PS5 game last month, shortly after announcing a Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release date of October 20, 2023.
