Los Angeles mayoral hopeful Spencer Pratt claimed big-name actors like Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx are in his camp, saying he has the “witnesses” to prove it.
The former reality star turned current mayoral candidate went on “Hot Mics with Billy Bush” on Friday to talk about his campaign. There, the candidate revealed the celebrity endorsements that have meant the most to him so far on the trail.
“The most excited I’ve been where I was like, ‘Oh wow,’ was Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx,” Pratt said. “With witnesses! Their teams can say it didn’t happen, but you know, there were a lot of witnesses, and that felt great.”
He continued: “Their whole thing with me is, ‘We need you to make the streets safer again.’ That was it. So that’s why I keep telling people, this is not political.”
However, Pratt’s claims contradict what TheWrap has heard, as we understand that DiCaprio has not publicly or privately endorsed any candidate for mayor.
Additionally, Foxx’s team did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Pratt, a registered Republican, made headlines after the first mayoral debate in early May, and has continued to be a hot topic of conversation since (including over a recent interview where he said he would leave Los Angeles if he lost the race).
On Wednesday, fellow former reality star Donald Trump seemed to tacitly endorse the mayoral candidate, saying, “I’d like to see him do well” and that he “heard he’s a big MAGA person.”
One person who isn’t endorsing Pratt, however, is comedian Chelsea Handler, who compared Pratt’s background to Trump’s on Instagram, saying, “This is a reminder that a straight, white male, former reality star that has no previous experience in government should not be a legitimate political candidate. Have we learned anything yet?”
Bush and Pratt addressed the comments on “Hot Mics,” focusing on the “straight, white male” part of the critique, rather than the comments about his reality background or lack of political experience.
“How dumb is that? If someone said the same thing about a woman or a gay person or a person of color, it would be widely condemned,” Bush said.
“I am married to a global pop gay icon, so, you know, I’m pretty, the gays are with me. I have the entire gay vote, period,” Pratt said. “Everyone’s missing who’s voting for me. The only people that aren’t are the socialists, the lunatics and the communists, but any normal, functioning brain who doesn’t want to step in human poop when they get their matcha is voting for me, which is a lot of people.”
A number of celebrities have voiced their support for Pratt in recent weeks, including Joe Rogan, Kristin Cavallari, Katharine McPhee, David Foster, Heather McDonald, Perez Hilton, Holly Madison and Nick Viall, among others. However, some of those supporters are ineligible to vote in Los Angeles, as they no longer reside in California.
