This summer, it’s Taylor Swift’s world and we’re just vibing in it. Even if Speak Now isn’t your favorite Taylor album (speak for yourself) and an upcoming Eras Tour stop won’t be the first time you’re seeing her live (it’s me, hi), you can’t deny this artist is making 2023 count. Especially with the release of another Taylor’s Version re-recording on the horizon.
Taylor Swift first announced the latest TV album, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) back in May 2023, just over two months before its release date in July. As with past TV releases, it was expected this one would include all the original songs plus unreleased songs “from the vault.”
No one was prepared for the featured artists in some of the album’s new collaborations, though. Except, obviously, Taylor Swift and these featured artists.
Among some of the vault tracks on Speak Now (TV) include “Electric Touch” (featuring Fall Out Boy EXCUSE ME) and “Castles Crumbling” (featuring Hayley Williams HELLO). Some of Swift’s past albums have included a mix of solo tracks and collaborations (Ed Sheeran wins the award for repeat collaborator).
True to the original, however, this version of Speak Now will remain all Taylor all the way through, with the exception of the two tracks mentioned above.
There is constant speculation among Swifties about what might come next for the artist — there are still a handful of original albums still to be re-recorded (or announced, if recording is already in progress). She’s also working on a movie, and many have wondered if her current tour will come with a hiatus from making new music to focus on other endeavors.
One thing’s for sure, though: At least until she’s taken her final Eras bow, she’s not stopping to figure out her next move.
Taylor can’t seem to stay out of the news lately — so check back for more speculation on the next TV album and more.
