It’s that time again! A new season of Apple TV’s Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning spy drama Slow Horses is right around the corner, and now more than ever, we’d recommend watching (or rewatching) Season 1. The sixth season of Slow Horses adapts two novels from Mick Herron’s bestselling book series — Joe Country and Slough House — to tell the story of Jackson Lamb (Sir Gary Oldman) and his MI5 misfits on the run from assassins. Why? Per Apple TV’s official synopsis, “Diana Taverner embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.” As we know from Season 6’s eventful trailer, Olivia Cooke is making her highly anticipated return as Sidonie “Sid” Baker, a Slow Horse who we were led to believe died in Season 1. So since it’s been four years since Slow Horses premiered and raised the bar for espionage television shows and book-to-screen adaptations alike, we figured it’d be a perfect time for a Sid refresher. Season 6 premieres on Wednesday, September 16. So you can even prepare by watching one Season 1 episode a day!
