Based on Audrey Shulman’s cookbook of the same name, Prime Video‘s Sitting in Bars with Cake follows Jane (Yara Shahidi) and Corinne (Odessa A’zion), two best friends and roommates who are navigating life in LA. After Jane attracts attention when she bakes a cake and brings it to a bar for Corinne’s birthday, the two hatch a plan for Jane to make a new cake to bring to a different bar each weekend for a year to meet guys. When Corinne is diagnosed with cancer halfway through their “cakebarring” mission, the two must savor every last slice of life she has left.
