Prince Harry attended his father King Charles’ coronation ceremony today, and the Duke of Sussex managed to avoid a face-to-face reunion with Kate Middleton and Prince William. He didn’t, however, completely evade cameras catching a more candid glance William’s way. Harry, seated two rows behind William, was photographed seemingly side-eyeing his brother at one point.
Harry’s appearance was otherwise quite standard and drama-free. He was photographed interacting with Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at one point, who he arrived with:
He also had a warm moment with his aunt Princess Anne:
Harry and William’s relationship is allegedly frostier than that of Harry and Charles’ currently. Royal reporter Omid Scobie discussed the state of affairs between Harry and William during a Wednesday interview on ITV’s This Morning.
“Obviously, this is the first time he sees his family face-to-face since the release of Spare [Harry’s memoir], but I don’t think people know that there has been somewhat regular […] conversation between him and his father since the release of that book,” Scobie said. “Now, have they discussed the details and the points that he wanted to go into? From what I hear, no. But he has had contact with his dad and, of course, there have been some negative moments with the loss of Frogmore Cottage. They lose the keys to that any week now at this point, and of course he would’ve spoken to his father about that, but also discussed his attendance at the coronation with his dad and made it clear that he wanted to be part of it, and I think that was really well received as well. So it’s interesting to now compare that to where William and Harry are, which is still in the exact same place that we last saw them. There has been minimal contact since the Queen’s funeral.”
Kate was last reported to be upset with Harry and his Spare revelations about her. A source told Us Weekly on January 8 that “Kate feels that Harry’s actions are atrocious. She is appalled at him for dragging her name through the dirt and is finding it hard to forgive.”
