Running Point season 2 dedicates its episode 3 to varsity boys’ volleyball player
Niko Mijailovic was a 15-year-old varsity boy’s volleyball player for Campbell Hall school in Los Angeles who died from Sudden Cardiac Arrest in 2025. The “#6” seen next to his name on screen references the position he played.
As the Campbell Hall‘s Instagram page explains, “Niko was a true light within our community. Niko joined Campbell Hall in Kindergarten and grew into a beloved and thriving member of our varsity boys’ volleyball team.
“Beyond his incredible athletic talent, Niko was known for his quiet confidence, kind heart, and deep love for his friends and family. “
As of April 2026, his sister Mila has partnered with Huddle for Hearts to raise awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest, according to the City Volleyball Club Facebook page.
During Mijailovic’s memorial service, it was mentioned that the last thing that his family watched together was Running Point season 1, according to Deadline.
The outlet also reports that friends of Mijailovic’s family are connected to the show, which is how the producers first heard of his story.
