One of the major plotlines of Disney+’s live-action Ahsoka series will be the titular character’s hunt for Thrawn and today, star Rosario Dawson teased that aspect of the show even more at London’s Star Wars Celebration.
During a panel specifically for Ahsoka – just one day after a teaser and August 2023 release window were unveiled at the Lucasfilm Studio Showcase – Dawson talked about the search and what’s driving Ahsoka so strongly in it.
“Though she is not a Jedi, she has so much of that at heart for her – she’s driven by trying to do good,” she said during the panel. “She sees a threat other people aren’t seeing. He’s formidable, not somebody to take lightly. She has a sense that there’s something, she knows that these foes are not easily dismissed.”
She also brought up Ezra, whose fate was left unknown at the end of Season 4 of Rebels after he seemingly sacrificed himself to bring down Grand Admiral Thrawn.
“Her relationship with Ezra is something that’s really powerful – that’s always present and what continues to drive her, that feeling that, I can do more, I can still be of service,” Dawson went on. “Someone as capable as she is, she understands her strengths and her weaknesses.”
It was far from the only mention of Thrawn at the Celebration this weekend. Disney showed a clip of next week’s episode of The Mandalorian during the Lucasfilm Studio Panel, (Slight Spoiler for The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 7), which showed Moff Gideon asking about Thrawn’s whereabouts.
