Rofhiwa Madzena joins Business Day TV after eNCA exit

Award-winning journalist Rofhiwa Madzena is back on Mzansi screens.

The business anchor shared on X the good news that she is now part of the Business Day TV family.

“I’m back on-air, back on focusing on business and the markets. Happy to be part of the @BusinessDayTV family,” she wrote.

Her return to the anchor desk comes after eNCA dismissed the business anchor, along with veteran anchor Heidi Giokos, in July 2026 over undeclared outside business interests.

Alongside Rofhiwa and Giokos, an unnamed senior technical staff member was also dismissed.

Madzena was part of the eNCA broadcasting team for eight years, starting in 2018, working as a business anchor and producer.

Giokos congratulated Madzena on her return to the anchor desk.

Giokos starts new SABC role

This week, Giokos also returned to the anchor desk, with her landing a new gig at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). She made her debut as a presenter on the weekend edition of “Fullview” on Monday.

The public broadcaster confirmed her appointment on Monday.

SABC spokesperson Mmoni Ngubane said Giokos is an award-winning journalist, television presenter and broadcaster with an established reputation in business, financial and current affairs reporting.

“Throughout her career, she has built a strong track record of excellence founded on credibility and a passion for telling stories that matter.

“Known for her ability to translate complex economic, business and social issues into accessible and engaging content, Giokos has become a trusted and respected voice within the South African media.”

According to reports, Giokos was dismissed from eNCA for appearing in a commercial in which she played a TV reporter.

She joined eNCA in 2017 as a general reporter. According to reports, she was suspended pending an eNCA disciplinary hearing, in which she was found guilty and immediately dismissed.
