Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman Part II,” gets October 3, 2025 release date

Although there has been a lot of uncertainty about everything at Warner Bros. Discovery right now, DC released a partial line up of whats to come which included the anticipated sequel to Robert Pattinson’s “The Batman.” James Gunn and Peter Safran confirmed that the sequel helmed by Matt Reeves will be released on October 3, 2025 and will be called, “The Batman Part II.”

That’s just part of what will be coming to theaters and TV screens as part of DC Studios bosses Gunn and Safran’s new slate. The pair have been busy in the three months since taking over and combining the film and television slate of DC properties, including live-action and animation, as well as gaming to mixed reviews from fans.

Prior to today’s announcement, there were concerns on whether the sequel had the official green light from Warner Bros. Discovery, even though Reeves had confirmed on social media that he was already working on developing the story for the return of this grittier version of Batman. While Reeves and Pattinson have not officially confirmed a third film, both have mentioned in interviews that they see this new Batman story told as a trilogy. Today’s announcement did not include any information regarding a third film.

The debut of Pattinson’s ‘The Batman” had him venture into Gotham City’s underworld after a sadistic killer leaves behind a trail of cryptic clues. As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans become clear, he must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued the metropolis.

Joining Pattinson was  Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell. The film was directed by Reeves, written by Reeves and Peter Craig, and produced by Reeves and Dylan Clark. It was released on March 4, 2022 and made over $770 million in the box office.

However, the partial line up included the announcement of another appearance of The Batman (not played by Pattinson) in The Brave and The Bold which is described as ““This is the introduction of the DCU Batman,” said Gunn. “Of Bruce Wayne and also introduces our favorite Robin, Damian Wayne, who is a little son of a bitch.” The movie will take inspiration from the now-classic Batman run written by Grant Morrison that introduced Batman to a son he never knew existed: a murderous tween raised by assassins. “It’s a very strange father-and-son story.”

Regardless, Safran said, “2025 is going to be a very big year for DC… Superman and Batman within the same year.”

While “The Batman Part II” synopsis and cast remains top secret, fans can breath a sigh of relief that the film has been confirmed and will be released in 2025.
