The Latest Peacemaker Season 2 News
James Gunn announced that Peacemaker season 2 will be released after Superman: Legacy, which is itself set to come out July 11, 2025, allowing for a rough estimate regarding the DCU show. However, this may see delays due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes, which have pushed back several larger movie projects, and may have a knock-on effect with future releases as a result.

Even though another season has been confirmed, there is no current Peacemaker season 2 release date. However, the window for Peacemaker season 2 can be estimated to be between 2025-2026, depending on when production for the show actually gets underway, and when exactly after Superman: Legacy‘s release the show ends up being scheduled for.
Peacemaker Season 2 Cast
The good news for Peacemaker season 2 is that most of the main cast members should be back in some capacity, despite no announcements thus far. John Cena will obviously be back to star as the peace-loving anti-hero, as the series’ focal character, and it seems probable that Freddie Stroma will return as Vigilante, based on his close friendship with Peacemaker. Jennifer Holland should return to continue Harcourt’s recovery and possibly move forward with a relationship with Smith. Economos is shown back at Belle Reve prison, so Steve Agee could return too. Danielle Brooks might even be back after Adebayo realizes she is cut out for the lifestyle her mother also leads.
Peacemaker season 2 might also still involve Robert Patrick’s Auggie after the finale set up Chris seeing his father’s ghost. With Peacemaker season 1 involving human-possessing butterflies, it seems in line to have something like the ghost of Auggie Smith continue to play a role in the show going forward, be it as solely a manifestation of Chris’ warped relationship with his cruel father, or as a sign of something more for the series. Audiences could even see Viola Davis take on a bigger role as Amanda Waller in Peacemaker season 2, as the Waller show is set to release beforehand, allowing development of the DCU character before whatever plot that the show’s second season takes on.

The Peacemaker season 1 ending mostly does a great job of wrapping up its main story ahead of season 2. The Butterflies were defeated, but it is the aftermath of this event that will likely influence what comes next. Adebayo reveals the dirty secrets of Task Force X and ARGUS to the public, confirming that the Butterflies were there, and that Peacemaker was framed for having prior knowledge of them. She even directly outs her mother, Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), as the mastermind behind the operation. All that’s confirmed for season 2 is that it takes place after Waller (via Small Screen), so Peacemaker may well deal less with the aftermath of this event, depending on what happens in Waller.
Peacemaker Season 2 Trailer
Given that Peacemaker season 2 hasn’t begun filming yet, there is no Peacemaker season 2 trailer. That being said, James Gunn has been tasked with writing and directing the entire season, and it’s unknown where Peacemaker season 2 is in the writing stages. Of note, the season 1 teaser arrived about three months before the show premiered, so it could be a while before any footage is showcased.
