Halloween is almost here and everyone is on the hunt for which streaming service has the best horror movies and shows to watch. Reelgood is making things easier for us, though.
The company decided to share some of the best horror movies and TV shows on streaming services of 2023. In addition, the brand also lets us know the breakdown of how many horror projects are on each streaming service, too.
Whether you’re planning for Halloween or just enjoy watching horror movies all year round, Reelgood has you covered. While I’ve featured the weekly roundups the past few weeks, I knew I wanted to feature some of the best horror projects, too.
You could be getting ready for a Halloween party or just want to enjoy some horror before, during, and after Halloween so you’ll want to know the best bang for your buck.
Reelgood shares some fun horror stats for streaming this Halloween.
Reelgood decided to do something fun with this report as they all broke down which streaming platform had the most quality horror movies and which ones just had the quantity. With that being said, the streamer with the most quality horror movies was AMC+ followed by Prime Video and Shudder. The last one isn’t surprising in the slightest as Shudder is known for its horror.
If you’re just looking for a lot of variety, then you might want to log on to Prime Video as they have a massive catalog of horror movies. As for horror series, the clear winners are Netflix, Hulu, and Peacock which isn’t a surprise. These three have been dominating for years and it doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon. It is clear that the horror genre is dominated by films rather than TV shows.
With that being said, let’s get into some of the best horror TV series. Starting with the top 3, we have Yellowjackets, From, and Black Mirror. Those three are talked about a lot and are ones that I’ve seen a lot of discussion about so this doesn’t come as a surprise. Following up the top three are American Horror Story, 1899, The Twilight Zone, and Servant.
Rounding things out are The Walking Dead, Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, and Rose Red. Whether you’re new to the horror genre or just want something to watch on Halloween, these horror TV series are worth looking into.
Moving onto what we’re all here for and that’s horror movies. As a long-time horror movie watcher, I’ve seen most of the movies on this list so I’m going to break down the top 5 which are The Menu, The Pale Blue Eye, No One Will Save You, Nope, and Renfield. When I think of some of the biggest horror movies of 2023, these come to mind.
In addition, the back half of the list is full of great movies for Halloween, too. For #6-10, Reelgood has M3GAN, Infinity Pool, Evil Dead Rise, Knock at the Cabin and I See You. If you’re looking to be chilled and thrilled, I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the films featured on this list.
If you’re a horror fan, I’d love to know what some of your favorite horror films from 2023 are and if there are any you’re planning to watch this Halloween.
