Taylor Swift fans have strong feelings on every single one of her eras as evidenced by everyone’s thoughts while attending the Eras Tours.

As I finish up with my Taylor Swift albums she doesn’t currently own, it does feel a little bit bittersweet. Reputation is the last album not owned by the powerhouse and I believe it has the most potential when it comes to being re-recorded aside from her debut.

Even so, we’re here to talk about Reputation which is Taylor Swift’s 6th album and was released in 2017. As a follow-up to 1989, this was a major surprise and gave us a look at an edgier and grittier Swift than we’d come to know. Regardless, I do feel like Reputation was the start of something new for Swift. She was frankly in her not “giving an F” era and she made sure that everyone knew it which I honestly can respect. There is something to be said about her reclaiming the power and accepting the narrative focused on her rather than bucking against it.

Looking at the album and its singles, Reputation ended up having a total of six singles. While there are some similarities between them, this album feels like it hit a ton of different notes for Swift. That’s why this album felt especially challenging because these songs teeter between so many different genres and sounds that it’s hard to rank them as everyone has different tastes, so Reputation took me a few listens before I could rank them.
