Legendary actress Rami Chuene took to X to share good news that she had received confirmation from the South African Broadcasting Corporation that she would be getting paid for repeat fees for her work on “Giyani: Land Of Blood”.
The former “The Queen” actress revealed that the paperwork had been completed and submitted, and now she is awaiting payment.
“On this day, 19 May 2026, at 4pm, I, Rami Chuene, would like to state on record that I have received communication from the SABC telling me they will be paying me repeat fees for my work on Giyani: Land Of Blood. The paperwork has been completed and submitted and I now wait for payment,” she wrote.
Chuene explained that she was sharing the news to let other thespians know and hopes other actors will have their shows repeated and get what’s due to them.
“Why am I telling you? So you know, my dear thespians, that this is what is truly due to us. I appreciate this from the SABC and hope that all actors that have their shows repeated on TV are also getting their repeat fees. Thank you SABC.”
SABC repeat fees (residuals) are negotiated contractual payments made to principal performers and writers when their TV drama productions are rebroadcast. Payments are calculated as a percentage of the original talent fee, and are processed directly to the artist upon submission of the required documentation.
If an actor or writer’s show is on the SABC Published Programs List, one must submit a verification claim to trigger the payment.
