Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, starring Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender, adds a new lore to the Alien franchise. Rapace plays Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, who has been studying the origin of humanity with her partner, Dr. Charlie Holloway (Logan Marshall Green). But as the scientists lead a crew on a space expedition aboard the Prometheus, they uncover the true horror of their discovery. This is technically part of Scott’s iconic sci-fi franchise, but it functions as a strong standalone film, as well.
