Thunderbolts, which was set to be released in 2024, will focus on a team of Marvel anti-heroes.

Among those confirmed to star in the film are Florence Pugh (Yelan Belova), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Wyatt Russell (U.S. Agent), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), Olga Kurylenko (Taskmaster) and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Valentina Allegra de Fontaine).

The film was most recently written by Lee Sung Jin, who took over an earlier draft from Black Widow writer Eric Pearson. Jake Schreier is directing the project.

Paused Until The Strike Ends

Thunderbolts follows Blade and Wonder Man as other properties that have been delayed due to the writers’ strike.

Filming on Thunderbolts was set to start in three weeks in Atlanta. The crew has since been notified, however, that shooting will be paused until the strike ends.

Other Marvel Projects

Wonder Man, which had been shooting in Los Angeles, also stopped production in the last few days. Like Thunderbolts, the plan is to resume shooting when the strike ends.

While Marvel, like the rest of Hollywood, is facing an uncertain future amid the strike, production on Captain America: New World Order and Deadpool 3 have continued to move ahead.
