Pete Davidson Plays Himself In Peacock Comedy Series – Deadline

Peacock has released the official trailer for Pete Davidson’s Bupkis, in which he plays a fictionalized version of himself.

The SNL alum co-wrote, executive produced and stars in the comedy series inspired by his life. Per the logline, the eight-episode series “combines grounded storytelling with absurd elements from the unfiltered and original worldview for which Davidson is known.”

The trailer opens with Davidson on a roller coaster (screaming) and on a wild joyride with Bobby Cannavale (more screaming). We also see Davidson with Joe Pesci, who plays his grandfather. “You run around like a kid and you’re not a kid anymore, you’re a man,” Pesci warns Davidson. We also see a flurry of quick images of guest stars including Edie Falco, who plays Pete’s mom, John Mulaney, Steve Buscemi, Ray Romano, Jon Stewart, Sebastian Stan, Kenan Thompson, Machine Gun Kelly and Chase Sui Wonders.

Davidson co-wrote the series with his longtime friend and collaborator Dave Sirus as well as showrunner Judah Miller. Bupkis is executive produced by Davidson, Sirus and Miller, as well as Lorne Michaels, Andrew Singer and Erin David of Broadway Video, which is producing with Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, where the company is under a deal. Jason Orley will direct and co-executive produce.

As previously announced, Davidson returns to NBC’s Studio 8H on May 6 to guest host Saturday Night Live. The comedian and actor was a regular on the late-night comedy sketch show from 2014 to 2022. He left at the end of last season.

Bupkis premieres May 4 on Peacock. Check out the trailer above.
