Comedian and actor Pete Davidson became part of the show during a performance from David Blaine in Las Vegas on Friday night. During the show, Blaine called Davidson and his pal up from the crowd to the stage so they could serve as assistants for the next trick. Video footage of the entire trick has since been shared online by TMZ, and you can check it out below.
The trick begins with Blaine asking Davidson to choose from one of four cups to unveil the special object that would be used in the trick. He picks the third cup, which reveals a sharp ice pick underneath. After having the assistants confirm that the ice pick was sharp, with Davidson putting, “Yup, you’re nuts,” Blaine had duct tape placed over his eyes while the ice pick was placed underneath one of three cups. With Davidson placing one of his hand on top of Blaine’s, Blaine then crushed two of the cups. They fortunately avoided the one with ice pick, but it nevertheless made Davidson nervous..
“Wow, holy sh*t,” Davidson reacted. “You’re f***ing crazy. You did it!”
“No, you did it,’ Blaine responded. “It’s crazy that you did that with me.”
“We’re gonna be best pals,” Davidson joked.
Blaine didn’t want to end things there. He then asked Davidson to stab him in the arm with the ice pick. The former Saturday Night Live star does so until the needle comes out of the other side. Blaine lets it dangle for a bit, prompting some cringing from the audience, before having a boy from the crowd come up to help pull the ice pick back out.
Where’s Pete Davidson Post SNL?
Davidson left Saturday Night Live last year, but oddly enough, he was set to make his return last month. The comedian was going to serve as guest host, but the episode was canceled as the writers strike began shortly before its scheduled air date. Davidson had previously served as a cast member for eight seasons and had become a fan favorite.
Since then, Davidson has launched his own series on Peacock. Called Bupkis, the dramedy series stars Davidson as himself alongside Edie Falco and Joe Pesci. The show also features special appearances from many of Davidson’s pals in the comedy world, including Ray Romano, Shane Gillis, Jon Stewart, Kenan Thompson, Charlie Day, Dave Attell, John Mulaney, and more.
Davidson also had recent cameos in the feature films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Fast X. He voices a Transformer in the upcoming franchise film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which premieres on June 9. Davidson also has a role in the upcoming film Dumb Money, which is about the true story of a group of Redditors causing the GameStop short squeeze. The film, from director Craig Gillespie, also features other big names like Paul Dano, Sebastian Stan, Seth Rogen, Shailene Woodley, America Ferrera, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Nick Offerman.
