It’s a big night for democracy, and I’m not just talking about the Senate run-off race in Georgia. Tonight is also the 48th People’s Choice Awards, the one awards show where all the winners are selected by we, the people. If only the Founding Fathers could see us now!
Actors, musicians, and influencers alike celebrated the occasion in fine fashion, hitting the red carpet at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica in their most People-pleasing ensembles—from Shania Twain’s leopard print to Laverne Cox’s botanical ball gown, celebrities came to slay.
Spoiler alert: A few of this year’s honorees have already been announced, including Ryan Reynolds, who will receive the people’s icon award, Lizzo, who will receive the people’s champion award, and Shania Twain, who will receive the music icon award. Kenan Thompson, fresh off his Emmys hosting gig back in September, will host the People’s Choice Awards for the second year in a row.
