While we still have half a season left of Secret Invasion, Marvel fans are already starting to look forward to the next Marvel release, the second season of Loki.
The show will be the first of Marvel’s many Disney+ series to return for a second season and will see the return of many familiar faces including Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief and Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius.
Diving Into Morbius’ Past
In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Owen Wilson revealed that the upcoming season of Loki will give fans more information about Mobius’ past.
The actor also revealed that while he enjoyed working on the show’s first season, he had even more fun this time around.

When asked if we would get to learn more about his character Wilson responded:
“I think so. I really… Working on the first one, I thought I would have a good time but I really enjoyed it. And I’ve been lucky working on a million movies that most of the time, I have a good time, but sometimes I have a great time, and that one I really did. That continued on Season 2, maybe even moreso, because we were filming in London, and being there at Pinewood. And yeah, [the story] just goes deeper.”
A Scrapped Season 1 Idea
Previous, Loki helmer Kate Herron had revealed that early scripts showed Mobius with a family and a life. The writers eventually decided, however, that they didn’t yet know what that story was.
“So I think for us, we had spoken about, I think there were a few drafts of the script where you did see like a family or you did see a life. But, I think we all kind of decided we don’t know what it is yet. And I think that’s exciting, right? Because it gives more road to travel with him. And I think it’s more painful when he is going to be deleted, him saying, ‘What if I had a family’ because maybe he did or maybe he didn’t. I don’t know where the writers will take his character,” Herron said.
In addition to diving into Mobius’ backstory, Loki season 2 will continue Marvel’s overarching multiverse story. Fans were given a brief look at the upcoming adventure in the post-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumana. In the clip, Loki and Mobius are shown keeping tabs on one of the many Kang variants that have been unleashed on the multiverse.
The second season of Loki will stream exclusively on Disney+ beginning October 6.
