Oppenheimer’s First Reactions Anticipate Another Masterpiece from Christopher Nolan

It seems that those who are going to enjoy a double feature of Barbie and Oppenheimer will not be disappointed. After the positive first reactions to Greta Gerwig’s film, the new Christopher Nolan’s project also surprises with its first comments and is ready to surprise the audience with a new masterpiece from the acclaimed director.


Based on the book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the movie focuses on the life of one of those responsible for creating the atomic bomb and, therefore, one of the men behind some of the most significant events in the history of the last century.

Oppenheimer includes an amazing cast lead by Cillian Murphy as the famous scientist, Emily Blunt as his wife, and Tom Conti as Albert Einstein. They are joined by Benny Safdie, Matt Damon, Josh Peck, Kenneth Branagh, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr., Rami Malek, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Gary Oldman, Devon Bostick, Alex Wolff, and Alden Ehrenreich.

The First Reactions to Oppenheimer Anticipate a Spectacular Achievement

Following the film’s debut at the world event in Paris, the first comments about Oppenheimer have surfaced online. Check them bellow:

Total Film’s Matt Maytum called it “an epic historical drama but with a distinctly Nolan sensibility.”

AP film writer Lindsey Bahr celebrated the “inventive storytelling and nuanced performance.”

Jonathan Dean from The Sunday Times wrote “An audacious, inventive, complex film to rattle its audience.”

Robbie Collin described it as a “total knockout.”

Bilge Ebiri highlights the story calling it an “intricate historical drama that builds and builds and builds until Nolan brings the hammer down in the most astonishing, shattering way.”

Variety’s Elsa Keslassy stand out the audience’s reaction but saying:
