Open World Zelda Is A Format For The Future Of The Series, Says Producer Eiji Aonuma

Such a shame, I was really hoping after TotK and with the Switch successor in the future they’d move on and go back to doing a more traditional Zelda game, even a hybrid of sorts just with small hub like areas.

It’s like when Assassins Creed moved from these dense like, in depth cities to huge open world games starting with Origins, yeah it revamped it and become popular but you loose the “essence” if you will of what made the originals so great and true to the franchises name.

I mean if they had this plan in place where we were getting full on remakes of Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask or even a 3D version of A Link to the Past alongside the newer games then at least then you are catering to two audiences but aren’t.

Anyway we’d have to wait and see, remember at one time Eiji Aonuma said motion controls was the future of the series and didn’t see himself going back when Skyward Sword released.
