When Marvel decided to expand the MCU into television, the studio instantly became one of the most popular names in streaming. Beginning with WandaVision in January 2021, Marvel continuously pumped out new shows for a year and a half, ending with She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
During that time, Marvel released eight different streaming series, introducing a bevy of new characters, and stretching the studio’s output to its breaking point.
Following the poor reception for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, in addition to later Marvel film releases such as Thor: Love and Thunder and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Disney decided to slow down Marvel’s release schedule.
Marvel Returns With ‘Secret Invasion’
With the release of Secret Invasion on June 21, Marvel is returning to the small screen in a big way.
Secret Invasion will see super-spy Nick Fury return to an Earth that has been infiltrated by shape-shifting Skrulls. The former head of SHIELD is joined by allies Talos, Maria Hill, and Ross Everett. The series will also introduce Emila Clarke’s G’iah- Talos’ daughter who is resentful toward Fury for never finding a new home for her people.
See The New Trailer
In a new teaser trailer released today, Fury confides in Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes that “an invasion is here…and we don’t even know who the invaders are.”
Rhodes explains to Fury that he is now the most wanted man on the planet, something the spy seems to take in stride.
Secret Invasion will revolve around the show’s central question — who can you trust?
New Character Posters
In conjunction with the new trailer release, Marvel also unveiled a series of character posters.
While Marvel fans will have had to wait almost eleven months between MCU releases, Secret Invasion looks like it will mark Marvel’s return with a bang.
