What’s that date? What’s that date? It’s April 17! New Girl is leaving Netflix for Hulu and Peacock in a little over a month, so if you’re looking for a sign to watch the hilarious, feel-good comfort series, this is it. The 2011 sitcom follows the relentless shenanigans of the awkward, unapologetically quirky Jess (Zooey Deschanel); her iconic bestie Cece (Hannah Simone); and her lovable, chaotic roommates Nick (Jake Johnson), Winston (Lamorne Morris), Schmidt (Max Greenfield,) and sometimes Coach (Damon Wayans, Jr.). Together, these hot messes comprise one of TV’s greatest friend groups. And thanks to stellar casting, sparkling scripts, and enchanting performances, you’ll never want to stop watching them. New Girl gifted the world one of TV’s most scintillating slow-burn romances and greatest first kisses. It fuels one of my favorite Twitter accounts. And it landed major guest stars like Jamie Lee Curtis, Dermot Mulroney, Taylor Swift, and Prince over its seven seasons. Our rating? 10/10. No notes.
