Netflix announced on Tuesday that their hit show Bridgerton has been renewed for another two seasons.
“Bridgerton swept us off our feet,” Bela Bajaria, VP Global TV at Netflix, said in a statement. “The creative team, led by Shonda, knew the material and delivered a beautiful, emotional, romantic drama for our members. They have some exciting plans for the future, and we think audiences will continue to swoon for this show. We’re planning to be in the Bridgerton business for a long time to come.”
The announcement came as a surprise as production is currently underway on Season 2, which is expected to be based on Julia Quinn’s second book in the series, The Viscount Who Loved Me.
