The first teaser for the upcoming animated series My Adventures with Superman offers our first look at The Boys star Jack Quaid as the Man of Steel. While the series had initially been set for release on Cartoon Network, My Adventures with Superman now comes courtesy of Adult Swim, with the brief teaser also revealing that the series will land this summer. Check out our first look at My Adventures with Superman via the official DC twitter account below.
“My Adventures with Superman is a serialized coming-of-age story catching up with twenty-somethings Clark Kent, the bright and driven Lois Lane, and their best friend Jimmy Olsen as they begin to discover who they are and everything they can accomplish together as an investigative reporting team at the Daily Planet,” the official synopsis for My Adventures with Superman reads.
The animated series will center on a fledgling version of the Man of Steel and “follows Clark as he builds his secret identity as Superman and explores his own mysterious origins. Lois, on her way to becoming a star reporter, teams up with photographer Jimmy Olsen to break the stories that matter. All the while, Clark and Lois are falling in love…”
Scream and The Boys star Jack Quaid will provide the voice of Clark Kent aka Superman in the series, with the teaser giving us just a taste of what that will sound like. The rest of the cast includes Alice Lee (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist) as Lois Lane, Jeannie Tirado (Soul) as Lana Lang, Ishmael Sahid (The Mindy Project) as Jimmy Olsen, and Kiana Madeira (the Fear Street trilogy) as Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl.
My Adventures with Superman was announced some time ago, and is produced by Warner Bros. Animation. The creative team behind the DC series includes several veterans, including Sam Register (Batman: The Killing Joke), Jake Wyatt (Invader ZIM: Enter the Florpus, Ducktales), Brendan Clogher (Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Reign of the Supermen), and Josie Campbell (Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power).
Live Action Superman Will Soon Get the Reboot Treatment in Superman: Legacy
Outside of animation, the Man of Steel will soon receive the reboot treatment as part of director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran’s recalibrated DCU. Titled Superman: Legacy, the reboot will be the first movie in the first chapter of the DCU, and will focus on a younger Superman, leaving Henry Cavill behind in favor of another actor. “Superman Legacy tells the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas,” the recent synopsis for Superman: Legacy reads. “He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”
While we still have no idea who will play the new Superman, with James Gunn debunking all sorts of rumors, it has been confirmed that Gunn will both write and direct Superman: Legacy for DC Studios.
Superman: Legacy is scheduled for release on July, 11, 2025.
