While Ms. Marvel didn’t bring in the number of viewers that Disney and Marvel are accustomed to, the show was well-received by both critics and fans. Unlike, say, Secret Invasion, Ms. Marvel has a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and was lauded for its fresh spin on the superhero origin story.
The question now is whether or not Ms. Marvel will follow in Loki‘s footsteps and return for a second season. The show already became the first Marvel Disney+ series to air on ABC, so clearly there is an audience for the show.
While nothing is officially on the dockett, the show’s producer Sana Anabat has previously mentioned that fan demand could ultimately be the thing that brings the show back.
Ms. Marvel Season 2 Update
In a recent interview with The Playlist, Ms. Marvel director Adil El Arbi was asked about a potential Ms. Marvel Season 2, and revealed nothing is underway as everyone waits for The Marvels to hit theaters.
The Marvels will see Kamala Khan team up with her hero Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeou to form Marvel’s newest superhero team. The film’s director Nia DeCosta, previously revealed that Kevin Feige and Marvel’s brass have kept future plans for the film’s main characters under wraps.
If The Marvels proves to be a success, and there is fan interest in seeing Kamala’s story continue, it sounds like a Ms. Marvel Season 2 is a real possibility. Until then, all fans can do is wait.
The Marvels will hit theaters on November 10.
