Key Quote: “Sakamoto was not well at the time that I approached him about the music, and so most of our correspondence was done through letters. We went back and forth, talking about what might work. In the beginning, I did a rough edit of the film and put some of his music to it, and I sent it to him to sort of get the ball rolling. And in his head, he had already decided what might be good for it. In the end, after looking at the film, he decided to compose two specific pieces of music for me.” – Kore-eda Hirokazu.
