When businessman Michael Rubin hosts his annual White Party in the Hamptons, it is guaranteed that the guest list will read like a who’s who of music, Hollywood, sports and business.
The Fanatics CEO hosted the fifth edition of his star-studded White Party on Wednesday, July 1, at his $50 million oceanfront estate in Bridgehampton, New York, bringing together some of the biggest names in entertainment ahead of the Fourth of July celebrations.
Among the guests spotted at the exclusive event were Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Tate McRae, Cardi B, Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor, Shaboozey, Ciara, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Ice Spice, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, DJ Khaled, Lil Baby, Meek Mill, Martha Stewart, French Montana and Fat Joe.
The sports world was also well represented, with Tom Brady, Mike Tyson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Davante Adams, Klay Thompson, Alex Rodriguez and Puka Nacua among those in attendance.
Guests were treated to performances by Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg and Cardi B, while Keys closed out the evening with a performance of “Empire State of Mind” as fireworks lit up the sky over the Atlantic Ocean.
However, what made this year’s White Party particularly interesting was not only who attended, but when it took place.
There aren’t many events that could compete with Rubin’s annual White Party in the Hamptons.
But when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding date became clear, the billionaire businessman decided he didn’t want his famous celebration forcing guests to make a difficult choice.
Speaking to “People” magazine, Rubin explained that he didn’t “want people to have to choose” between attending his famous Hamptons gathering and Swift and Kelce’s star-studded wedding celebrations in New York.
“We were aware of that date and we didn’t want to have people have to choose,” he said.
Of course, much of the conversation surrounding this year’s White Party centred on the event Rubin was trying not to compete with.
After months of speculation, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce officially tied the knot on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York, surrounded by family, friends and an estimated 1,000 guests with actor Adam Sandler reportedly officiating the wedding.
And if you’re wondering why Sandler was chosen to officiate the ceremony, “BBC” revealed that the answer actually goes back to Swift’s own music.
In her song “Wi$h Li$t”, Swift imagined a future with Kelce, including “a couple kids” and “a driveway with a basketball hoop”. The singer later revealed that the song was inspired by Sandler’s character in the 1996 film Happy Gilmore.
“He has this happy place where he goes into… This is where he escapes to mentally in times of stress, pressure, anxiety or chaos,” Swift told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “And that chorus of that song is me just describing what my happy place is.”
The couple also reportedly wore custom Christian Dior Haute Couture designed by Jonathan Anderson, while Swift completed her bridal look with Christian Louboutin shoes and Cartier jewellery.
As per reports, the singer added another personal touch and chose her younger brother, Austin Swift, to serve as her “man of honour” instead of having a traditional maid of honour.
