FX dropped the first trailer for the fifth and final season of Mayans M.C. (above) and things are not looking great for E.Z. Reyes (JD Pardo), whose face is being gripped by the reaper. Season 5 premieres on May 24.
With a final face-off set up between the Mayans and SAMCRO, this can’t be a good omen for what’s ahead. Could this represent a final battle between EZ and Isaac Packer (JR Bourne)? Or it might be a little foreshadowing of the inevitable death of our protagonist much like Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) in Sons of Anarchy before him.
One thing is for sure, Bishop (Michael Irby) and the rest of the M.C. is shaking in their boots.
“The only thing you can trust E to do is get the rest of you killed, too,” says Bishop somberly. A scene following this statement shows Bish, Nestor (Gino Vento) and Hank (Frankie Loyal), among others, as pallbearers. Who is inside the casket is a mystery but all hell will break loose if that’s Padrino (Emilio Rivera)— it would truly be the end of an era.
EZ continues to be high on power promising to “take the club to heights it’s never seen.” Even Miguel (Danny Pino) looks to be distressed, asking Angel (Clayton Cardenas) to get EZ to pull back.
“EZ doesn’t listen to me,” Angel tells Miguel, powerless.
“You convince him,” Miguel replies.
Going to war with Sons will be no easy feat but EZ is ready to sacrifice it all.
Returning series stars also include Carla Baratta, Sarah Bolger, Joseph Lucero, Vincent Vargas, Gino Vento, Emily Tosta and Vanessa Giselle.
Mayans M.C. was co-created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James. The series is executive produced by James and Sutter. The 10-episode fifth and final season is produced by 20th Television and FX Productions.
