MarvelBlog News for July 5th, 2026

In this week’s MarvelBlog News, Sadie Sink explains her casting.

Also, we learn that more Spider-People may be on the way.

Don’t worry. You’ve seen them all before, though. Allow me to explain.

I’ll warn you that we’re doing potential spoilers this week, though.

We’ve reached a strange moment in Marvel history.

Right now, we’re still more than five months from the next MCU movie.

Avengers: Doomsday will arrive in theaters on December 18th.

So, the special effects team is working overtime – perhaps literally – to finish the film.

However, the cast and crew are preparing for principal photography on the next film.

For this reason, rumors are popping up about the plot of the next MCU film.

That’s a trick conversation since we still don’t know what happens in the “current” one.

Well, rumors are all over the place about that one, too. Even Yahoo! is getting in on the action.

Presuming you don’t mind getting spoiled, you can read the link.

I’ll go ahead and tell you that it aligns with what I’ve heard. Well, the Steve Rogers part does.

The other half of that rumor isn’t something anyone has mentioned.

As for the main rumor, Marvel has hidden the idea in plain sight since the first teaser.

Remember that this clip showed a happy and content Steve Rogers.

Why would you do that unless someone were about to mess with that contentment?

Warning: Potential Spoilers in This Section

In combination with a seemingly innocuous Father’s Day post, Marvel is laying it out there.

Something happens that sends Doctor Doom on a mission to change the timeline.

And he blames Steve Rogers, suggesting that there’s a connection here.

Specifically, Rogers’ return to be with Peggy Carter may have somehow rippled to Doom

Putting two and two together, Rogers has a new child. What does Doom have?

Peggy Carter

Well, on Father’s Day, there appeared to be a child’s drawing of daddy.

The implication is quite clear when you connect the dots.

When Rogers time-traveled, his actions somehow led to the death of Doom’s child.

As far as motivations go, that’s a good one. And that’s not all.

Set photos and internet sleuthing have led to two other conclusions.

At some point, multiple Spider-Men will appear in the MCU.

Specifically, a leak shows Tobey Maguire returning in one of the films.

Soon afterward, rumors spread that Andrew Garfield would also return.

Now, I’ll warn you that it’s possible Marvel is the one driving these rumors.

The studio has intentionally leaked misinformation in the past.

Still, that’s a validated image of Maguire standing with Deadpool and Wolverine.

Therefore, the picture aligns with the rumored return of Ryan Reynolds to join Hugh Jackman.

While Marvel could be driving these discussions, I’m inclined to believe most of this.

Given the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Deadpool & Wolverine, these moves make sense.

The buzz for Avengers: Doomsday will be off the charts once these reveals are public.

Sadie Sink just revealed how she got the part in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Long story short, she got the part by being Sadie Sink. There was no casting process.

Photo: BBC

Sony and Marvel offered her the role sight unseen. For her part, she never saw a script.

Sink didn’t even know what she should be doing in the film until she showed up on set.

That’s a clever way for Sony and Marvel to keep her character’s identity a secret.

She cannot pull a Tom Holland and give too much away if she doesn’t actually know anything.

In other news, filming has begun on season three of Daredevil: Born Again.

Elodie Yung has appeared in several set photos, indicating that Elektra is back.

Presumably, she’ll distract Daredevil until he’s ready to fight Kingpin again.

If you’ve seen season two, you know how ridiculous the climactic events were.

So, we all need better closure on that front. Plus, we’re getting Elektra again!

Another big story this week involves an X-Men ’97 episode.

If you haven’t watched the third episode yet, you should stop reading here. Have a lovely week!

Presuming you’re still here, you may know that a familiar face appears in this episode.

A Kang variant named Rama-Tut shows up in the episode. Yes, that Rama-Tut.

This is the character who would have been the antagonist in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

Since we’re never getting that film, Marvel is using him in X-Men ’97 instead.

Oh, and Marvel did an entire Cable promo to hype what’s coming next:
