Maluma Calls on Colombia to Stream ‘TU RECUERDO’ From New Album ‘LocoXVolver’

Maluma posted a message to his Colombian fans on Tuesday. He thanked them for the early reception of his ‘LocoXVolver’ album and pushed them to stream his new track ‘TU RECUERDO’ that same day.

The Instagram message was in Spanish and kept short. He wrote “Gracias por el cariño que le están dando al álbum” – thank you for the love you’re giving the album – then followed with a direct call to action: “A escuchar TU RECUERDO hoy!!!!” He closed with the #LocoXVolver hashtag and a Colombian flag emoji.

The Spanish-only format and the flag pointed the message squarely at his home country. This wasn’t a global rollout update. It was a direct line to Colombia.

Born Juan Luis Londoño Arias in Medellín in 1994, Maluma is one of Colombia’s biggest musical exports. He broke into the music business in his late teens and built an early audience with reggaeton and urban pop singles. Those songs gained traction first at home and then across Latin America. His career expanded quickly from there. By 2020, he had collaborated with Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, and Madonna. Those partnerships put him in front of a new tier of international listeners and extended his reach well beyond Latin markets.

His 2020 single ‘Hawái’ became a benchmark. The track topped Latin charts and landed in mainstream streaming playlists worldwide. The crossover confirmed something his Latin American fanbase already knew: Maluma could carry a global hit on his own. In the years since, he’s maintained a steady release pace and stayed active across streaming platforms. But Colombia has remained the core of his identity throughout.

‘LocoXVolver’ – roughly translating to “crazy to return” – is the album he’s currently promoting. ‘TU RECUERDO’ translates to “the memory of you.” It’s among the tracks he’s been actively pushing since the album’s release. Tuesday’s post put it front and center with four exclamation marks. Full release details and any tour plans around ‘LocoXVolver’ haven’t been publicly confirmed.

The #LocoXVolver hashtag has been part of his social rollout for the project. Tuesday’s post fits that pattern. The Colombian flag and Spanish-only text give this update a home-country focus rather than a standard global push. Maluma has spent years building an international audience. His outreach to Colombia on Tuesday is consistent with a career-long habit of keeping his home country close.

‘TU RECUERDO’ is available to stream now. The track is part of ‘LocoXVolver’.
