Nomination are being announced Friday morning for the 66th Grammy Awards, ahead of the ceremony set for February 4, 2024 in Los Angeles.
Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. will reveal the noms in the six General Field categories including for the marquee Album of the Year and Song of the Year, joined Arooj Aftab, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Jimmy Jam, Jon Bon Jovi, Samara Joy, Muni Long, Cheryl Pawelski, Kim Petras, Judith Sherman, St. Vincent, Jeff Tweedy and “Weird Al” Yankovic for the unveiling, along with CBS Mornings co-hosts Gayle King, Nate Burleson and Tony Dokoupil.

This year’s field includes heavy doses of Taylor Swift, who has dominated 2023 with her Eras Tour concerts and movie, along with her new album Midnights — one of four of her albums in the Billboard Top 10 at the same time back in June, a record.
She us nominated for up Album of the Year (Midnights) and Song of the Year (“Anti-Hero”) and Record of the Year. The nomination in the Album category means she is in the running for her fourth Grammy in that category — breaking a tie for third she currently is in with a lofty group that includes Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon.
Others in the race for all three biggies Record, Album and Song: Jon Batiste, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish.
The Best New Artist field is Gracie Abrams, Fred again.., Ice Spice, Jelly Roll, Coco Jones, Noah Kahan, Victoria Monét and The War and Treaty.
The Barbie soundtrack is also prominent this morning, with Eilish’s “What Was I Made For” from the soundtrack up for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. The blockbuster’s score from Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt was also nominated this morning.
This year’s Grammys includes three new categories in Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best Pop Dance Recording. In another tweak, the existing categories of Producer of the Year, Non-Classical and Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical, are being be moved to the General Field, meaning all Recording Academy members are eligible to vote.
