Kylie Minogue just covered Vogue Australia (Kylie Mi-vogue?) and opened up about the honor and responsibility of guiding so many Aussies, for so many years, through the pop landscape.
Is she ever confronted by the largeness of this responsibility? “I don’t find it confronting, I find it inspiring and moving and it makes a lot of what I do real. There’s a cost for a lot of what I do, to myself. But hearing real, actual stories of people’s lives, it’s amazing!…It’s like a cosmic thing because you can’t touch it, you can’t bottle it. There’s a magic, you’re affecting someone, you’re part of their memories and in their being. It’s a truly wondrous thing and I’m so grateful.”
She also spoke about how fashion is part of her self-expression, or as the writer put it, “storytelling.” Minogue is a visuals gal. “I get really into the details, certainly on all the graphics, everything I can get my hands on. I’ll get completely forensic about it…If I had a different job from the beginning, it would’ve been a linguist … or a graphic designer.”
