Kylie Jenner recently showed off an easy styling trick that can upgrade even the plainest little black dress in under five minutes. Naturally, she did so at the Prada fashion show in Milan, where season after season fantastic fashion moments are created not only on the runway but also by the high-profile star guests sitting front row.
Which brings us back to Jenner: Her look for this year’s show is the perfect styling inspiration to elevate what could otherwise be a rather plain and boring black dress. Whether it’s through her recent campaign for Acne Studios, her relationship with Timothée Chalamet, or her ever-changing style, she keeps on making headlines as of late. As for the latter, her style has noticeably evolved in recent months away from very bold outfits to a more relaxed, one might even say “quiet luxury,” aesthetic.
Though the youngest sister of the Kardashian-Jenner clan always attracts attention, it wasn’t easy to stand out at the Prada show. From Emma Watson to Rosalía and Hunter Schafer, there were a number of A-list celebrities present in Milan for the event. But we’re here to talk about Jenner’s look in particular, which was nonchalantly cool—and so easily to style at home ourselves.
For the occasion, the entrepreneur chose a black turtleneck minidress that at first glance looked extremely simple. The real highlight of the look, however, was the net miniskirt decorated all over with Swarovski crystals Jenner wore over her dress. Incidentally, this comes from the fashion house’s archives and was first shown on the runway at the spring-summer 2010 show.

The skirt is also the styling trick we keep teasing—a layering piece like this enhances any dress in no time. It’s also ideal for day-to-night dressing. A black turtleneck dress, in a mini length à la Kylie Jenner or in a midi or maxi version, can be worn with a blazer to the office during the day. When you leave, layer a fun net skirt over it for a going-out look.
