Now, Emma has been a part of the AHS family since Season 3’s “Coven” and has appeared in five seasons altogether (most recently in 2019’s 1984).
Of course, this will be Kim’s first appearance on the show. Both Kim and Emma shared a teaser trailer set to a spooky version of “Rock-a-Bye Baby,” announcing that this season will be called Delicate.
A representative for co-creator Ryan Murphy told Variety that Kim will be in a lead role this season, playing a character made specifically for her.
“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” Ryan said in a statement to the Hollywood Reporter. “Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”
According to THR, Delicate will be based on the upcoming novel Delicate Condition by Danielle Valentine. It’s described as “a gripping thriller that follows a woman convinced a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens — while the men in her life refuse to believe a word she says.” It’s also been described as a “feminist update” to Rosemary’s Baby by New York Times bestselling author Andrea Bartz.
Kim has actually acted before, making appearances in Disaster Movie, CSI: NY, and Drop Dead Diva.
Naturally, Kim and Emma’s names began trending on Twitter following the announcement:
What a time to be alive! Delicate has no official release date, but will be hitting screens sometime this summer.
