Kim Kardashian Blamed North West for Her Over-the-Top Kylie Cosmetics Makeup Transformation—Watch the Video

North West is to blame for Kim Kardashian’s latest makeup transformation.

On January 18, the reality star documented a new, over-the-top look to the tune of “M to the B” by British artist Millie Bracewell. In 2020, the BBC reported that the sound was used in TikTok’s most-watched video at the time, and it seems to be having a resurgence. Complete with overly drawn-on brows, intense contouring, pale pink overlined lips, and dramatic lashes, Kardashian applied a full face of Kylie Cosmetics to participate in TikTok’s popular “British chav” makeup trend.

According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, chav is British slang used to describe a person who displays “aggressively loutish behavior” and dresses in a “flashy” manner. The term has been described as classist and misogynistic, as it’s largely levied against working-class women. Still, Kardashian’s video was largely well-received by commenters, who were surprised to see a gum-smacking Kardashian participate in the trend. “Loving this side of Kim,” one user commented, while another wrote, “I did not expect to open the app to this but it’s iconic.”

Other TikTok users guessed that Kardashian’s nine-year-old daughter put her up to it. “I know North made her do this y’all,” one fan commented, while another asked, “Kim did North force you?”

The answer is yes. In response to one Twitter user who described the video as “the last thing I thought Kim Kardashian would do on TikTok,” the Skims founder replied, “Me too! The bribes and bet losing I have going on with North is unreal.”

I’ll say. Earlier this month Kardashian faced backlash for posting a TikTok with her daughter made up to look like her father, Kanye West. In the clip, the pair recreated a scene from his 2013 “Bound 2” music video, which many viewers found “inappropriate.”
