Kid Cudi Album ‘Insano’ Will Now Be Released in January 2024 – Rolling Stone

The album did not previously have a release date that had been shared with fans, but its first single arrived in early June

Kid Cudi announced to his fans on Monday evening that his forthcoming album, Insano, won’t arrive until January 2024. In a statement shared on social media, the rapper announced that he would be pushing the record back, although no official release date had been shared prior. Speculation that it drop soon was based purely on the arrival of its artwork and a pre-order link, but at least listeners now have two new songs to hold them over: “Most Ain’t Dennis” and “Ill What I Bleed.”

“I want to make sure that everything lines up and I give y’all the best version of myself,” Cudi wrote in his statement. “This album is amazing and I want to make sure I present it in the best way for y’all.” The rapper shared that he still plans to release the next official Insano single soon, in addition to the two loose album tracks he dropped on SoundCloud. “I promise I won’t take them down,” he added. “These songs are some of my favorites on the album and I really think you’ll dig ’em.”

Closing out the message, Cudi wrote: “I’m sorry for the delay everybody but I’m a perfectionist. And things gotta be right.”

Insano will mark the final album in Cudi’s recording contract with Republic Records, which has released his last six studio albums. Last November, he admitted that he isn’t sure what his next move is from there but insisted the album wouldn’t be arriving in 2023, anyway. “Won’t be next year,” he wrote on Twitter. “Keep u posted.”

So the postponement of Insano is, in some way, actually just setting the album back on course for its original release plan. Its first single “Porsche Topless” arrived earlier this summer. The record served as a replacement for “Flex,” a single Cudi originally planned to release on June 2 but ultimately scrapped when a snippet he shared received poor reactions from his fans. “You guys are my fans, ur my family!!! I hear yall!!! I’m pivoting,” Cudi wrote on Twitter when he pulled the initial single.

“I hope it just sprinkles a little love in their life. I hope it makes people feel really good,” Cudi told Rolling Stone of his new album last year. “I hope people listen to it with their lover, or crushes or whoever and just vibe and connect with it and just go.”
