Kelsey Grammer Leads Faith-Based Drama – Deadline

Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company have unveiled the first trailer for their faith-based film Jesus Revolution, starring Joel Courtney (The Kissing Booth franchise), Jonathan Roumie (The Chosen) and Kelsey Grammer (Frasier), which is slated for a wide theatrical release on February 24th, on the heels of a special preview event set for the 22nd.

The film directed by Jon Erwin (I Can Only Imagine, American Underdog) and Brent McCorkle (Unconditional) tells the true story of a divided moment in time when people came together by checking their preconceptions at the door – and formed a movement by listening to each other, looking beyond their own beliefs.

In the 1970s, young Greg Laurie (Courtney) is searching for all the right things in all the wrong places – until he meets Lonnie Frisbee (Roumie), a charismatic hippie-street-preacher. Together with Pastor Chuck Smith (Grammer), they open the doors of Smith’s languishing church to an unexpected revival of radical and newfound love, leading to what Time magazine dubbed a “Jesus Revolution.”

The film written by Erwin and Jon Gunn also stars Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Anna Grace Barlow, DeVon Franklin, Ally Ioannides, Julia Campbell, Nic Bishop and Jolie Jenkins. Kevin Downes (I Can Only Imagine, American Underdog) and Jon and Andrew Erwin produced it alongside Josh Walsh (The Jesus Music) and Daryl Lefever (Woodlawn).

Jesus Revolution will open against the Elizabeth Banks-directed Universal thriller Cocaine Bear and Sony’s thriller Searching 2. Check the new film’s trailer out by clicking above.
