Nearly six months after Jonathan Majors was arrested in New York City on domestic violence charges, the Loki star’s trial has once again been delayed.
On Wednesday, Majors appeared in court via video teleconference, where the two sides determined that another hearing would be held on September 15.

After numerous delays, Majors’ trial was set to start today in a Manhattan courtroom. Now, the legal proceedings will once again be pushed back.
The Defense Asked For The Delay
While the prosecution was ready to proceed with the trial, defense lawyers stated that there were “deficiencies” in discovery that still needed to be addressed. 
“The people are … ready for trial,” and prepared to produce any witnesses, experts, and trial exhibits,” Assistant District Attorney Kelli Galaway told Judge Rachel S. Pauley.
Majors’ defense attorney Seth Zuckerman told the judge that a delay was necessary and, “We have written to the prosecutor regarding deficiencies.”

Majors Will Have To Appear In Person Next
Today’s court hearing lasted just under five minutes, after which Judge Pauley told Majors that he would need to appear in court for the trial itself. For today’s hearing, Majors appeared via video.

“And of course, once a firm trial date is set, he will need to appear in person,” Judge Pauley said today to Majors’ lawyers. She then told Majors himself that he can also appear on the 15th via video teleconference. “Between now and the next court date no contact whatsoever with the complainant in this case. And stay in touch with your attorneys,” Pauley said, adding, “Good luck.”
How We Got Here
Majors was initially arrested in Manhattan on March 25 and charged with assault and aggravated harassment following an alleged domestic dispute with his then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.
At the time of the arrest, Jabbari told officers that she was assaulted. She was also taken to the hospital with “minor injuries to her head and neck.”

Majors has pled not guilty to all four charges levied against him. Meanwhile, defense attorney Priya Chaudhry has asserted that it was Majors who was assaulted and “not the other way around.”

As previously mentioned, the next court date will take place on September 15. From there, a new trial start date should be announced.
